The second international call of the Leonardo accelerator is about to start to select,\u00a0 in a 3-year period, 30 startups; in 2023, startups are invited to propose innovative\u00a0 solutions in the simulation and gamification <\/i>and networking & cybersecurity <\/i>sectors.<\/p>\r\n
Online applications are open until March 24th and a roadshow for the promotion of the\u00a0 second call is ready to start: the selected startups will attend a 6-month acceleration\u00a0 program at Leonardo\u2019s BIF spaces at the LVenture Group Hub<\/p>\r\n
During the acceleration phase, startups will be able to develop a Proof of Concept <\/i>(PoC<\/i>) directly with the different business units <\/i>of Leonardo<\/p>\r\n \r\n
The second edition of the <\/span>Business Innovation Factory <\/b>(<\/span>BIF<\/b>), <\/span>Leonardo\u2019s\u00a0 startup accelerator <\/b>created in partnership with <\/span>LVenture Group <\/b>is about to start. After the great success\u00a0 of the first edition, the accelerator stood out within the Italian innovation ecosystem as an <\/span>excellence\u00a0 centre for the development of high-potential technological solutions<\/b>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n The second call is open to national and international university startups and spin-offs \u2013 also in the\u00a0 constitution phase \u2013 and it focuses on two specific verticals. The first one is the <\/span>simulation and\u00a0 gamification <\/i><\/b>area which is about the development of solutions for the simulation of realistic scenarios\u00a0 and digital twin to improve analysis, planning and management of critical missions, solutions of serious\u00a0 gaming for applications of remote simultaneous training and solutions to improve support and\u00a0 involvement of clients in using and managing Leonardo\u2019s platforms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n The second vertical, <\/span>networking & cybersecurity<\/i><\/b>, includes IoT cybersecurity solutions and\u00a0 infrastructures of communications based on software, Zero-Trust Security applications, data protection\u00a0 and cryptography, Active Defence, quantum communication and quantum computing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n Startups will be able to apply directly online on the <\/b>www.leonardoaccelerator.com <\/i><\/b>website by\u00a0 filling out the dedicated form until March 24<\/b>th<\/b>. During the application period, there is going to be a\u00a0 roadshow for the promotion of the second call of BIF that will stop over in <\/span>Naples<\/b>, <\/span>Milan<\/b>, <\/span>Tel Aviv<\/b>,\u00a0 <\/span>London <\/b>and <\/span>Munich<\/b>. The acceleration program focuses on the pre-seed\/seed phase in line with the call\u00a0 requirements and a Minimum Viable Product (<\/span>MVP<\/span><\/i>) that can be demonstrated. <\/span>Startups in acceleration\u00a0 <\/b>will be able to demonstrate their ability and maturity in confirming the technological solution on specific\u00a0 Leonardo\u2019s <\/span>use cases <\/span><\/i>by <\/span>planning and developing a Proof of Concept (PoC) directly with\u00a0 Leonardo\u2019s business units.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\r\n The selected startups will participate in the <\/span>six-month acceleration program <\/b>in the <\/span>Business\u00a0 Innovation Factory <\/b>spaces at the <\/span>Hub of LVenture Group <\/b>in <\/span>Rome<\/b>, one of the leading innovation hubs\u00a0 in Europe. The program, carried out by LVenture Group, will share the vertical skills of its team in the\u00a0 main strategic areas for business growth with the startups, according to their unique Full-Stack approach:\u00a0 360\u00b0 support from acceleration to exit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n The <\/span>second edition <\/b>of <\/span>Business Innovation Factory <\/b>is part of the three-year course of the accelerator\u00a0 that aims to select up to ten startups per year, for a total of 30, that can develop innovative solutions to\u00a0 contribute to widening the offer of digital services of Leonardo that is between the worldwide leaders for\u00a0 Aerospace, Defense and Security. The launch of the Business Innovation Factory is part of Leonardo’s\u00a0 approach to innovation that is based, according to the <\/span>Be Tomorrow 2030 <\/b>strategic growth plan, on\u00a0 interaction and collaboration between different internal and external players, to encourage the sharing of\u00a0 ideas and knowledge, fueling opportunities for new essential technological solutions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n The <\/span>first edition <\/b>of BIF \u2013 focused on <\/span>servitization <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>autonomous systems <\/span><\/i>verticals \u2013 obtained great\u00a0 success: more than 170 applications and 41% of them were foreign.
