United Ventures leads the investment round. Among the main investors are Exor Seeds, Ithaca Investments and LVenture Group
Futura, an Italian EdTech startup that develops artificial intelligence models to revolutionize the study process, creating personalized and adaptive learning paths, has closed a 1.8 million euros investment round, the largest EdTech seed scored by an Italian startup.
Futura’s new funding was provided by United Ventures as lead investor, Exor Seeds, Ithaca Investments, LVenture Group and business angels like Luca Ascani (Accel scout), Matteo De Brabant (Founder of Jakala) and Attilio Mazzilli (Partner at Orrick).
Futura, launched by under 25 Co-founders Andrea Chirolli (CEO), Francesco Salvatore (CPO) and Lorenzo Pinto (CTO), in less than two years has reached over 1500 students, growing an average of 20% month over month.
Futura’s platform makes the private tutoring experience accessible to everyone. Thanks to supervised and reinforced learning the company want to offer high-quality learning content to everyone. Futura provides a different offer from the ones on the market as the educational content is curated by the company and then expanded with user-generated additions. The AI-based platform optimizes the study time and test scores by learning from past mistakes and targeting weak points with modular classes that adapt to students’ individual needs.
The startup’s goal now is to internationalize by hiring new talents and investing in the development of technologies to democratize learning. The new financing will help Futura’s ambitious growth projects, with the aim of European expansion and quadruple the revenues in 2022: “We are proud that investors of this calibre have decided to believe in Futura, its mission and its team. This seed round is an important first step made possible by the great work of an incredible team that every day is committed to improving the learning experience for thousands of students. We want to overcome the economic barrier that often prevents students from accessing top-quality learning and deliver personalised learning experiences across the globe”, said Andrea Chirolli, Founder of Futura.
