This Unique, a startup that has launched an online service for the subscription sale of eco-sustainable sanitary pads and other menstrual and hygiene products, has just closed a seed round of 700 thousand euros in equity, debt financing. Luiss Alumni 4 Growth (LA4G), LVenture Group, Maire Investments and BHolding joined the equity funding. The debt financing was provided by the Italian fintech scale-up ViceVersa.
This Unique – accelerated in 2021 by the LUISS EnLabs Acceleration Program of LVenture Group – aims at revolutionizing the market of hygiene products for the menstrual cycle, through an inclusive and more sustainable approach that stills respects every individual need. The startup has developed a wide range of products (sanitary pads, tampons and body care accessories) made with compostable and zero-impact materials. The products can be purchased in customizable packages directly on the thisunique.com website with a very flexible subscription service.
In just nine months of activity, the startup reached over 10,000 customers, with more than 1,500 subscribers, and developed a huge community that today counts more than 30,000 people for discussing menstrual related issues. The recent launch of the B2B service for companies already involved five large corporations in less than three months.
The capital raised will accelerate the platform’s technological development through data analysis and profiling processes, as well as supporting the launch of new B2B services.
