Wetacoo closes a € 750K seed investment round

The logistics startup launched a digital service to easily plan the collection, transport, custody and return of objects. Lazio Innova, LVenture Group, private investors in the logistics sector and business angels participated in the startup first seed round

Wetacoo, a startup that has developed an innovative logistics-integrated storage solution, has closed a € 750,000 seed investment round, with the participation of Innova Venture – the Venture Capital Fund of the Lazio Region managed by Lazio Innova – LVenture Group, private investors in the logistics sector and business angels.

The startup created a platform that provides individuals and small companies with a convenient space for the temporary storage of objects during a transfer, a renovation, or even ordinary warehouse storage. With just a few clicks, Wetacoo customers can have their items collected and returned where and when they prefer. Unlike traditional self-storage companies, Wetacoo lets you manage the whole process online and makes you pay only for the space you need.

Wetacoo was launched at the beginning of 2021 by LUISS EnLabs, the LVenture Group Acceleration Program born from a joint venture with Luiss University, and in a few months, it has garnered the trust of investors raising its first capital increase.

“We are very satisfied with this further investment in Wetacoo, a dynamic enterprise willing to bring digital innovation to a very traditional sector. Following this trend, more and more Italian startups will generate new growth opportunities as well as making this type of services much easier and user-friendly”, commented Andrea Ciampalini, General Manager of Lazio Innova.

When it comes to logistics, startups are playing a leading role as innovation drivers, and the investment in the sector grows accordingly, exceeding 9.5 billion dollars in 2020. These new players offer great solutions for the critical issues related to the Covid emergency, starting from Wetacoo, which meet these new needs with the offer of tailored logistics services. Congratulations to the team that managed to close their first capital increase in just a few months from the market launch” commented Luigi Mastromonaco, Head of Investments & Portfolio Growth of LVenture Group.

We are proud that many institutional and private investors, including several from the world of logistics, have decided to support our vision. We aim to revolutionize the world of self-storage, bringing innovation to a traditional and still backward sector. This round represents a crucial step to further enhance our technology and improve the user experience. Furthermore, we are planning to expand into new cities in the coming months”, said Federico Prugnoli, CEO of Wetacoo.
